Hogenmiller helps lift golf team to third place

The Missouri Southern golf team finished play early in the Missouri Intercollegiate Tournament this week due to heavy rain. Freshman Andy Hogenmiller shot a two under 142 to help the Lions finish third.

Hogenmiller went 72-70 yesterday in the first two rounds of the tournament.

“I played pretty good,” Hogenmiller said.

“I wouldn’t say better than expected because I always expect to play the best I can.”

Junior David Eddy tied for 13th at 150, while sophomore Seve Smith was tied for 24th at 152. Sophomore Chris Needham shot a 157, while sophomore Taylor Griffith shot a 159.

The Lions play again Sept 15-16 when they travel to Pittsburg, Kan., to compete in the PSU Invitational at Crestwood Country Club.
