The upcoming edition of the Newsmakers interview program on KGCS-TV features a couple of milestones and well-recognized local journalists, the recent Southern Regional Media Hall of Fame award winners.  

Jim Jackson, of KSN-TV, Dowe Quick of KOAM-TV and Susan Redden of The Joplin Globe were honored as 2011 award recipients earlier in April.

The program, to air throughout the week of May 1, marks the 25th anniversary for Judy Stiles, as host and producer of Newsmakers.  Stiles notes that when she started hosted the program in 1986, she could pick up The Joplin Globe in the morning to read stories written by Susan Redden, and tune in for local television news in the evenings to watch newscasts anchored by Jim Jackson and Dowe Quick.

Those three appeared on the program, sharing insight into their careers and local news coverage.

“It was an honor to have these three professionals on the program,” says Stiles.  During her 25 years of interviews, Stiles has recorded more than 1,300 programs.
