On Aug. 19, Sodexo Food Services formally introduced its food truck- inspired in-house Mexican style restaurant, Wholly Habaneros. Wholly Habaneros, the new addition to the Lion’s Den, has already caught the taste buds of Missouri Southern students and staff.

“It’s almost a mix of Taco Bell and Chipotle,” said Angel Harris, supervisor of Sodexo.

Harris said Wholly Habaneros offers fresh quality products and huge portion sizes like Chipotle, yet it has that Mexican taste and flair like Taco Bell.

Christiane Parker, undeclared freshman, already loves the new addition and its burritos.

“Variety of toppings, fresh taste, it was really tasty,” she said.

Wholly Habaneros offers burritos, tacos, a burrito bowl, nachos and the student favorite so far, quesadillas.

Michael Wonderly, general manager of Sodexo, has closely monitored how each item has sold.

“Everything has been really equal,” he said. “I would probably say the quesadilla is the favorite right now, but they’ve all been selling really well.”

Though Wholly Habaneros remains new to many, Harris believes that it will soon be the go-to restaurant.

“Once everyone gets the hang of it, I think we’ll pick up,” Harris said.

The grand opening is set for the first week of September and will include giveaways, prizes and discounted prices.
