Lions men, women split games with Pittsburg State University

More than 6,000 spectators awaited the battle of the border. The Lions traveled west to meet the Pittsburg State University Gorillas.

The John Lance Arena hosted the Café Del Rio Bordertown Battle, Feb. 25. In a game that was within four points with 35.8 seconds at 77-73, the Gorillas sank three of four free throws to win 80-73 over the Lions.

Hiram Ocasio, junior guard, had 21 points for the Lions.

Prior to the men’s game, the women took the court. The Lions won their seventh-straight game.

The Gorillas were held scoreless in the final four minutes. Wyketha Harrell, senior forward, tied a career high with 21 points in a 63-52 Lions’ win.
