Water gun fight dispersed due to noise

11:55 p.m.

A Department of Public Safety officer was contacted to East Hall with a report of a stolen bicycle.

The bicycle had been left in the bicycle rack outside of East Hall during the spring break.

The owner said his friends were not suspected in taking the bicycle, and he did not know who could take it.

The Joplin Police Department was contacted and the information was recorded.

1:40 p.m.

DPS was contacted to the Art Department in reference to the theft of a digital camera.

An instructor in the department said several lenses were also found missing.

The estimated value of the camera is $7,000.

10:00 p.m.

A DPS officer was contacted to the residence halls in reference to a loud noise thought to have been a gun shot.

Upon arrival, the officer found several students having a water gun fight and asked if they could identify the noise.

The students did not know what the noise was and no one else at the scene could identify the noise The students were told to be quiet and return to their rooms.

Harassment

7:00 p.m.

A clerk in the Spiva Library contacted the DPS with a harassment complaint.

The clerk stated a subject in the library had begun to make several inappropriate comments and became aggressive when she told him she was not interested.

The officer approached the subject and advised him of the matter. The subject apologized.
