Spring Wellness Series focuses on 6 facets of wellness

Feb. 15 started the second semester of the Wellness Series.  Last semester’s series was over various aspects of nutrition, but this semester is dedicated to six of the seven facets of wellness—financial, emotional, social, environmental, intellectual and physical.  Every other Tuesday, there will be hour-long presentations by one of six Missouri Southern instructors.

“The goal of this series is to overall encourage a healthier, happier and more active University,” said Ethan Rodgers, sophomore physical education major.

Heather Arnold, director of aquatics and wellness, wants to educate the campus about how to lead a “well” life by bringing in speakers from around the area to ensure the sessions are “both informative and enjoyable.”

“No matter how much of an “expert” someone feels they are on a particular subject, they are almost always likely to walk away having learned something new,” Arnold said.

Anyone is welcome to attend the Wellness Series presentations, which are at 5:15 p.m. every other Tuesday in Billingsly Student Center Room 341.

The next session, based on Nutrition, is set for March 1 at 5:15 p.m.
