Student Senate Treasurer Eli Moran and President Kyle Prisock announced the Senate will be holding a meeting next Tuesday between 2-3 p.m. in the Billingsly Student Center’s Phelps Theater where they have invited the presidents and vice presidents of all registered student organizations.

The Missouri Southern Student Senate met Wednesday in the Billingsly Student Center where they approved one motion in an abbreviated general session before adjourning to committees.

The Senate was forced to change venues for the meeting at the last minute after Bright Futures, a community based program involved with Joplin Schools, booked the customary conference room.

The Senate passed a $445.90 bill to purchase jackets emblazoned with the Senate logo for each member. The motion passed unanimously except two abstentions.

The Senate also announced a meeting where they have invited the presidents and vice presidents of all registered student organizations.

“It’s a way for us to communicate about what Senate can and can’t do for them because some students come to us with many ideas that we just don’t have the ability to make happen,” said Student Senate President Kyle Prisock. “This meeting will give them a clear picture of what we’re able to do and it also provides a forum for them to provide feedback about things they would like to see on campus in a way that represents a larger portion of the student body without creating so many voices that nobody can be heard.”

The all-presidents meeting will take place between 2-3 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, in Phelps Theater inside the Billingsly Student Center. All students are welcome.
