Art Feeds Joplin is looking forward to its annual Paint Wars. This is a unique fundraising opportunity for Art Feeds, that will go to help kids in the Joplin and Carthage areas.

Art Feeds Joplin has teamed up with Art Feeds Carthage to proudly present its Fourth Annual Paint Wars.

This event will be Saturday, April 30,  from 9:00 a.m. through 1:00 p.m. at Victory Ministry and Sports Complex in Joplin and will benefit children from both communities.

“Art Feeds believes all children are artists,” said Jordan Comer, Art Feeds Joplin intern.

“We exist to feed creative development and facilitate emotional expression in children through art and community,” Comer added. “To do this, we provide free therapeutic art and creative education programs within schools & children’s organizations by mobilizing teams of community members to bring all forms of art into classrooms.”

This fundraiser fuses dodgeball with powder paint bombs for a fun and colorful mess until one team is declared the Champion.

It’s “round robin” play so every team will play each other once and the top four teams will head to the semifinals where two final teams will emerge.

The two winning teams will compete in one final game to determine the winner of the 2016 Paint Wars!

There is a $300 registration fee for teams of 10-12 players and ammunition and a t-shirt will be provided.

The registration deadline for teams is April 25 and you can register your team by calling 417-626-2323, stopping by the Art Feeds location, or by visiting afpaintwars2016.eventbrite.com.

“Our values are what makes us, us,” Comer said. “We are learners: we strive to live by the lessons our students teach us: to love naively, give generously and to be foolishly compassionate.  We are for the kids.”

This event is a great way to bond with your own community and those of the surrounding ones, while working with team-building exercises.

Not only will there be a Championship trophy awarded, but there are also awards given to the best team uniform and best team chant.

By partnering together, all funds raised from ticket sales and donations from Paint Wars directly benefit an Art Feeds chapter.

Ticket proceeds from Carthage teams will benefit Art Feeds Carthage and ticket proceeds from Joplin will benefit Art Feeds Joplin.
