Missouri Southern homecoming queen Ashley Hendrix is one of 34 students set to graduate with honors Saturday.

Missouri Southern State University’s 47th graduating class includes 34 students who will graduate with honors at the University’s Commencement ceremonies at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, in Leggett & Platt Athletic Center.

Seven students earned a four-year grade point average of 3.9 or above on a 4.0 scale and will graduate Summa Cum Laude. One had a perfect 4.0 grade point average.Ten students will graduate Magna Cum Laude with grade point averages of 3.80 to 3.89.Fifteen students will graduate Cum Laude with grade point averages of 3.70 to 3.79.

Two students are receiving Associate Degrees graduating with third honors indicating a grade point average of 3.70-3.79.

The ceremony will include graduates from the Robert W. Plaster School of Business Administration, school of education, school of arts and sciences and school of technology and those receiving associate degrees.

A total of 272 degrees will be awarded to 261 students.

The speaker for graduation will be Dr. Ron Lankford, Webb City superintendent of schools.

Following the ceremony, a reception will be held in Robert Ellis Young Gymnasium.KGCS-TV at Southern will videotape the ceremony. Graduates will be able to purchase video remembrances of the ceremony.
