As the holiday season approaches, Missouri Southern says goodbye to two campus faces. Bernie Johnson, professor of economics, and Kathleen Cunningham, senior communications major.

Though not the center of attention, the comments around campus and the piece of student art at the right are quiet testaments to the memories of these individuals. The few with words told stories of the everyday ordinary things that now serve as reminders of their friendship.

Regardless of our affiliation with either of the two lost, we hope that wherever they may be, it’s a better place.

Our thoughts rest with the families and friends who are coping with their loss and hope the positive memories of Johnson and Cunningham will grow to be a tribute to their lives.
