Athletics, Zetas team to fight breast cancer

The Missouri Southern women’s basketball team has teamed with Zeta Tau Alpha for a breast cancer awareness night. During the Nov. 28 home opener game vs. Webster University, the Lions will wear pink jerseys,to be auctioned off after the game.

Admission is free and the team is encouraging donations instead of the ticket price. Money raised from the jersey sale and admission donations will got to the American Cancer Society and the Hope 4 You Breast Cancer Foundation.

The Zeta Tau Alphas will be giving out pink T-shirts to students attending the game. The sponsor names will be on the back, including: Student Senate, Freeman Health System and St. John’s Hospital. In a motion put before Senate earlier this week, they agreed to help sponsor the event because funds raised by the ZTAs must go towards their foundation. ZTAs will organize other donations to fund the free T-shirt giveaway.
