Students have an opportunity to take time to relax before Spring Break even begins.

A collaborative effort of many campus services, including Student Activities, the CAB, Advising, Counseling, and Testing Services, and Residential Life, Safe Spring Break gives students the opportunity to start the break a little earlier. The event will take place at 7 p.m. on March 11 in Young Gym.

This year Safe Spring Break has a casino night theme. Activities will include 12 blackjack tables, six Texas hold ’em tables, 20 slot machines, one craps table, two roulette tables, and one money wheel. Safe Spring Break’s casino night will also feature door prizes, T-shirts, and snacks.

“[Safe Spring Break] is one more stress-free activity where students can get together with friends and hang out without thinking about class,” said Tori Christiansen, director of student activities.

The event is a reminder to students to have fun safely without dangerous Spring Break activities such as drinking. Christiansen said that Safe Spring Break is one of Missouri Southern’s awareness programs.

The event is free to students.
