Too much Too little

These three words compose the modern scarlet letter: registered sex offender.

As a result of House Bill 1397 (among others), public parks, pools and churches with playground facilities may join day care centers on the list of places off limits to certain sex offenders.

When children are present offenders must stay 500 feet away unless they are a parent or a guardian of a child there.

Soon they will have nowhere left to go.

Eliminating one-time sex offenders from legally visiting public places is meant to reduce the number of crimes against children. Sex offenders testifying against the bills agree with their purpose, but for these reformed individuals there is no grace period.

The legal limits imposed on them are creating a tight perimeter because they try to obey the law. What is being done about those who ignore it?
