Volleyball Lions downed by UCM
Missouri Southern’s volleyball team fell to Central Missouri last Friday, 3-0. With a motivational win over Pittsburg State University on Sept. 21, the Lions started set one with UCM on a bad note.
With the first set score of 12-25, the Lions pushed for set two at 19-25 and set three 20-25.
“We were ready to play Central, but we were to timid from the start,” senior Rachel Olinyk said.
In set three, the Lions showed they could compete, having 13 ties and leading 19-17 at one point. With a young team, the transition to collegiate volleyball is still sinking in. Olinyk took the lead in offense with 11 kills, and Sydney Potts set up 30 assists.
The Lions will be back in action today and tomorrow at the Pittsburg State Invitational.
