CAB planning events to unite resident, commuters students
Students looking for a good time on campus should look no further than the Campus Activities Board.
“If you wanna have a good time and stay active with other students without partying and drinking, this is the way to do it,” Kimiya Simpson, CAB president, said.
Simpson says students will always have fun and meet new people at CAB events.
This semester, the group plans to present several activities geared toward students including laser tag on the Oval Sept. 27, and a murder mystery night during homecoming week.
“[We] wanna keep everything positive,” Simpson said. “So far, so good.”
CAB members had their first meeting this week, and they’re already planning events for next semester. Even freshmen have suggested ideas.
“It’s students making events for other students,” CAB Vice President Brittany Lampe said.
Simpson and Lampe both hope the events planned for this semester will draw people out, including commuter and non-traditional students.
They want to hold events that can draw people back to campus.
“The more [that] people come to our events, the better the environment and the more fun we’ll have,” Lampe said.
The first CAB events of the semester included the Welcome Week events. Next on the schedule, magician Preston Pugmire will come to campus on Sept. 13.
