Parade highlights Saturday’s festivities
In continuation of the week’s homecoming festivities, Missouri Southern will host a homecoming parade tomorrow at 11:30 a.m.
“There are 48 entries including cars, floats, local high school bands and the alumni winners,” Elisa Bryant, alumni relations coordinator, said.
There will be a competition for best float between the 14 campus organizations that have entered.
“The floats will be judged based on how well they tie into the Hollywood theme and on their creativity,” Malorie Cashel, director of student activities, said.
Homecoming king and queen, as well as royalty finalists, will participate in the parade alongside Greek Life, Campus Activites Board, MoSo Ghost Hunters and others.
The parade lineup will start in front of the Ummel Technology building and will end at Fred G. Hughes Stadium.
“It will be a nice, fun time for all current students and alumni. Last year had a good turnout and we’re hoping for the same this year,” Cashel said.
“And, of course, they will be throwing out candy,” she added.
The parade is open to all current students, alumni, faculty and staff.
