Men’s CC team prepare for D-1 OSU Jamboree

With only two meets left before the MIAA Championships, Missouri Southern will try to make a big impact at the Oklahoma State University Jamboree tomorrow.

The Lions will have the pleasure of running at home for the MIAA Championships this year as they are the host.

“We have some small injuries but we’re good,” Head Coach Tom Rutledge said.

“The team is improving each week I know they are going to be ready for this meet.

“My young guys are not afraid to compete, they never shy away from the sword, they don’t complain and they finish workouts.”

Rutledge’s team will look to continue running as a team and packing runners in tightly, as he stresses the importance of running as a pack.

“We’re closing the gap between us and Central Missouri University, as long as we can stay healthy my guys will be good,” Rutledge said.

According to Rutledge, last Wednesday’s victory over Pittsburg State University at home will serve as a confidence booster for his young Lions.

He also mentioned that his team is gaining ground quickly on the top competition, and that he feels good about its chances at running a great meet at conference and possibly capturing the title.

The Lions will gear up and travel to Stillwater, Okla. tomorrow for the Jamboree.
