Homecoming festivities to honor 75th year
Next week, Missouri Southern will celebrate its 75th anniversary with Homecoming and other events that will take place throughout the week. The theme this year is “75 Years of Lion Pride.”
“We really rely on students to spread school spirit,” Craig Gullet, director of student activities, said. “Homecoming is a great way to do it.”
The hectic week begins with Homecoming royalty that will take place in Billingsly Student Center. Students can place their votes on Monday and Tuesday. King and queen will be revealed next Friday.
On Tuesday, the 61Syx Tech Break Dance Crew will perform from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Phelps Theatre.
On Wednesday, an outdoor movie, “The Avengers”, will be shown on the oval at 7p.m.
On Thursday, students may take old-time photos, participate in “stuff the lion” and enjoy root beer floats on the Oval.
There will also be the fifth annual Gala Concert. It will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Taylor Performing Arts Center. Admission is $5.
