Student Vote

This year’s student body election topics are more impactful than in the years before. From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, April 29, and Tuesday, April 30, in the Lion’s Den students will be able to vote on the ROAR fund and the Smoke-Free Campus proposal.

Theses are issues that not only affect the current students of Missouri Southern, but could also affect future students.  We have the unique opportunity to make a change and leave our mark on the university we’ve attended for four or more years.

Whether you are for or against the proposed topics, we encourage students to use the information provided to them to make an informed decision when it is time to vote. Also, we encourage students to spread the word and discuss these topics with their peers, but keep in mind that not everyone will agree on these topics.

On the homepage of our website, www.thechartonline.com there is a special section assigned to the upcoming voting topics with informative articles, opinions from staff members and letters to the editor about these topics.

The University and members of Student Senate have also provided students with information regarding the upcoming election.

The importance of students voting, regardless of where they stand, is the fact that being involved during time spent at Southern can translate into making an impact after graduation.
