CAB sponsored movie series highlights Valentine’s Day
The Missouri Southern Campus Activities Board (CAB) will be hosting a weeklong series of movie screenings on campus from Feb. 9 to Feb. 13 in celebration of Valentine’s Day.
A total of four films will be shown as part of Valentine’s Week and all movies will be shown in Phelps Theater at 6:30 p.m.
“We tried a similar concept during Halloween last year and we were pleasantly suprised by how many people turned out,” said Landon Adams, director of student activities, “so we decided to take a similar approach to Valentine’s Day this year.”
In addition to the Valentine’s movies, the Wellness Department will be screening Big Hero 6 in Phelps Theater on Thursday, Feb. 12.
Wedding singer Robbie Hart (Adam Sandler) and waitress Julia Sullivan (Drew Barrymore) are both engaged to be married. As time goes on, however, it quickly becomes clear that neither have chosen the right partner.
When Gerry Kennedy (Gerard Butler) passes away after battling an illness, his wife Holly (Hilary Swank) follows a series of letters he left for her that aim to guide her through her grief and help her rediscover herself.
Margaret Tate (Sandra Bullock), a chief editor at a major New York book publisher, forces her young assistant Andrew Paxton (Ryan Reynolds) to marry her in order to keep her Visa status in the US and avoid deportation to Canada.
Bradley Cooper, Jamie Foxx, Anne Hathaway, Julia Roberts and more star in this comedy about intertwining couples and singles as they break-up and make-up based on the pressures and expectations of Valentine’s Day.
