Missouri Southern State University and Crowder College recently came to an agreement regarding transfer credits for students.
Now, it will be easier for students who are transferring to MSSU from Crowder to have their courses directly translated. This is especially important for healthcare students. Nursing students who receive their registered nursing certification at Crowder can now smoothly transition to a Bachelor of Science degree at MSSU.
Missouri Southern President Dr. Dean Van Galen and Crowder President Dr. Katricia Pierson met alongside other representatives to formally sign the agreement. While neither could be reached for comment, Van Galen issued a statement.
“I think it’s part of a bigger effort between Missouri Southern, Crowder – as well as Kansas City University, our healthcare systems to provide the workforce talent that is needed in our region, and to really make this part of the country a beacon of excellence,” Van Galen said.
The schools have previously signed similar agreements. In 2022, MSSU and Crowder signed the “2+2” agreement that aided education students who transferred, giving them many new opportunities.
