Are you wondering what you can do with your younger siblings or children during this fall season? MSSU’s Department of Performing Arts is offering an exciting event geared towards little ones: a theatrical production of Schoolhouse Rock! According to Natasha O’Brien-Davies, a professor at MSSU who is involved with the production, “Schoolhouse Rock LIVE is a 75 minute musical based on the 1970’s animated series. Students have been working on the piece since late August and are excited to bring the piece from page to stage.” She further commented that she has “enjoyed collaborating with the production staff and students on this lively musical.”
“Schoolhouse Rock LIVE” will take place on October 12th in the Taylor Auditorium and there will be two opportunities to attend. The first show will be held at 10 a.m. and the second will be at 12 p.m.. It is open to the public, so anyone is welcome to join in and enjoy the catchy songs and colorful costumes! The best part is, if you are an MSSU student, your ticket is free! All you have to do is bring your student ID to the event. Children ages 2 to 12 can purchase tickets for $8 and adult tickets cost $12. If you have any questions about the event, you can contact Natasha O’Brien-Davies at [email protected] or 417-625-9594. Make sure to attend this production if you want to see some of the most talented performers at MSSU putting on an exciting show that is fun for all ages!
