Men’s soccer team ties last game after dropping one, 3-0
The Missouri Southern men’s soccer team finished its season Oct. 29 and 31.
Oct. 29 the men traveled to Springfield because Bodon Field was in poor condition after heavy rains. They lost to Midwestern (Texas) State University 3-0.
The Lions returned to Joplin Oct. 31 to play St. Edward’s University. The game ended in a 0-0 tie.
J.P. West, junior midfielder, led the team with three goals this season, followed by Seamus O’Donnell, senior forward, who had two goals.
Sophomore goalkeeper Travis Haight played all 1756:57 minutes of the season, earning 162 saves.
Adam Skiermont, senior forward, played his final game for Southern against SEU.
West and Tyler Witte, sophomore defender, captured academic honors from the Southwest Soccer Conference.
Haight and Blake Wright, freshman defender, were named to the second team of the All-SSC. West earned an honorable mention selection.
