Women lose close final game
With a 62-59 loss to the Central Missouri State University Jennies, the Missouri Southern’s women’s basketball team’s season came to an end.
The March 3 game went into halftime in a 28-28 tie, but the Jennies outscored the Lions 34-31 in the second half to come out with the win.
Seniors Aubrie Hallman, guard, and Vonny Wilson, forward, both scored 20 points for Southern.
Wilson shot six of seven from the line and grabbed 13 rebounds.
Hallman missed a three-point shot at the buzzer that would have tied the game.
She was the only Lion to score a three-pointer, and she made two out of her eight three-point attempts. She also blocked three shots.
Junior forward Dacie Reutlinger scored eight points for the Lions, shooting three of six from the field.
The Lions’ season ended with a 17-11 overall record.
