Men’s golf takes swing at Topeka
Teeing it up at the Topeka Country Club, Missouri Southern’s golf team placed fourth in the Washburn Tournament on April 4-5. Senior Danny Sinksen led the Lions with a 74-76 on the par 71 layout, finishing in a tie for seventh place.
Senior Andrew Koehler posted a 78-76 finishing in a tie for 17th place.
Senior Travis Stockholm finished tied for 23rd and junior Nick Marks finished 79-79 tied for 29th.
Senior Gier Askvik finished in a tie for 34th shooting 83-79.
Southern posted 25-over 309 both days, finishing 28 shots behind first place Washburn.
This season, Southern has fourth and fifth place finishes in its three tournaments so far.
Sinksen’s seventh place finish is his highest of the season.
Southern has four tournaments left in its spring season, including the MIAA and NCAA tournaments.
Its next tournament, the Central Regional Invitational, will take place on Monday and Tuesday in Kansas City.
