The annual Talent Show, featuring 12 students, is set to take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 14 in Taylor Auditorium.

This year, the performances include rapping, dancing, baton twirling and a color guard routine. 

Students competing in the Talent Show are selected by members of the Campus Activities Board after submitting an application and audition video. Judges will consist of faculty members and students.

The students will compete for $700 in prize money. The first place winner will receive $300, second place will receive $200 and third place will receive $100. There is also a chance for the audience to select their favorite performer who will receive $100.

“For those that may be too scared to enter, what many do not see is the support and camaraderie between the acts backstage,” said Craig Gullett, coordinator of student activities. “Even though it is a competition, the acts always encourage each other and have a great time showing off what they do.”

The first 200 students presenting a valid student ID will receive a free t-shirt. The event counts toward the Residence Cup and the Greek Laurel standings.

“The talent show provides an opportunity for our students to show off their gifts to the campus,” Gullett said. “It also allows our Campus Activities Board to plan a great event.”
