CAB preps Homecoming
As Natural High and Greek Recruitment week concludes, the Campus Activities Board turned its attention to Homecoming.
With a silent vote, CAB nominated Matt Collier and Sara Balls as its candidates for Homecoming King and Queen.
“[Matt] is famous, I would totally take his autograph,” said Daisy Smiley. “He is well known, so he’ll get a lot of votes.”
CAB also began plans for the organization’s Homecoming float. These ideas will not be disclosed due to competition among campus organizations.
“We’ve got some ideas, but we’re still brainstorming,” said Hector Amaya, president of CAB.
With Homecoming coming up Oct. 13-14, Tori Christiansen, director of student activities, prepares for the usual busy schedule.
“It’s always a stressful week for us, but I do look forward to Homecoming week,” she said. “It’s a lot of fun and action-packed.”
Additionally, the group discussed the CAB Member of the Semester award. This recognition would award a student who was the most involved.
“We look for someone who’s gone above and beyond,” Christiansen said. “We get a few people who absolutely shine, and we just want to make sure that person gets recognized for doing a great job.”
“We encourage every organization to get involved,” Christiansen said.
The next CAB meeting will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27 in the Student Activities office.
