Men sixth, Women tenth at MIAA Golf Championships
Missouri Sothern’s men and women golf team both competed in the MIAA Championships to put a close to their season.
The women traveled to Firekeeper Golf Course in Mayetta, Kansas.
The Lions top performer was freshman Kylie Carnes who placed 36th with an overall score of 249.
The other Lions followed as freshman Maggie Moore tied for 41 with a score of 261, junior Elizabeth Poe placed 47 with a score of 314 and junior Taylor Boyett got 49 with a final score of 320.
The Lions as a team got 10th place with an overall score of 1144. Southwest Baptist University finished ninth with a score of 1125, while the first placed team Northeastern State finished first in the Women’s MIAA Championship with a score of 902.
The men traveled to the Shangri-La Golf Club, Resort & Marina on Monkey Island, Oklahoma to finish their season.
The men overall tied for sixth place with Missouri Western State University with an overall score of 888.
The men’s top performer in the MIAA Championship were Jeremy Dunham and Taylor Haltom as they tied for 19th with a score of 222.
Logan Greer and Tristan Haltom tied for 25th with a score of 224. Trier Jensen also placed 30th individually with a final score of 227.
Lindenwood placed first in the tournament with a total score of 843 and was named MIAA Champions.
Golf season will pick up next fall for the start of the 2019 season.
