Lloyd accepts position in Arkansas
A new career opportunity for one faculty member lies at the University of Arkansas.
Mark Lloyd, admission counselor, will be leaving Missouri Southern April 23. His new position will be the assistant director of admissions for U of A.
“I’ve been here eight years, so leaving is hard but the career opportunity is good,” he said.
After living in the area, Lloyd and his wife, Stephanie, a math teacher at Joplin High School, said they have mixed emotions about leaving. However, Mark says his loyalty remains with Southern.
“There is no doubt I love this place,” Mark said. “It’s just that the position is available.”
One of Mark’s coworkers, Amber Brown, admission support and tour coordinator, said the department is losing a friend. However, it’s for the best.
“It’s exciting because he’s wanted to work in higher education,” Brown said. “We hate to see him go, but it’s what he’s always wanted.”
The job position will be posted on April 8. Currently, there is no one in line for the position.
