Golf prepares for MIAA Championships
The Missouri Southern Lions men’s golf team competed in the Southwest Baptist University Classic at the Silo Ridge Country Club in Bolivar.
This is the men’s team first tournament since March 26 where the Lions placed 10th.
The Lions placed seventh at the SBU Classic with the performance of senior Jeremy Dunham who shot a 222 in a three round score.
Dunham was the Lions top performer followed by sophomore Taylor Haltom, senior Tristan Haltom, senior Tripper Jensen, and sophomore Logan Greer. Their scores were 74,78,79,and 77 respectively.
Southern shot 910 as a team while Dunham tied for all golfers in the tournament.
Both the men and women’s teams will compete for the MIAA championships.
In the two events hosted by the MIAA the Lions are ranked seventh with 9.5 points while Haltom and Dunham are ranked individually 14 and 19 respectively. Lindenwood is ranked first with 20 points to be ranked first amongst all teams in the MIAA going into the tournament.
The men will host at the Shangri-La Golf Club, Resort & Marina on Monkey Island, Oklahoma on April 23-24.
The women will travel to the Firekeeper Golf Course in Mayetta, Kansas on April 22-24.
