Lions finish twelfth in Big Creek Invitational
The Missouri Southern Lions Women’s Golf team competed in the Henderson State Spring Invite hosted at the Big Creek Country Club in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
The Lions placed 12th as the team shot an overall score of 1090 which is 82 more than the eleventh place Northwestern Oklahoma State University.
One Lion, freshman Kylie Carnes, placed in the top 20 with an overall score of 228 to finish tied for 13th.
Carnes teammates freshman Maggie Moore had a score of 253, junior Elizabeth Poe had a score of 293, and junior Taylor Boyett had a score of 316 to finish the tournament 56, 63, 64 respectively.
This is the second time in two weeks that Carnes has been in the top 20 of her competitors. Carnes placed finishing sixteenth at the Natural State Classic hosted by Harding University at the Red Apple Inn and Country Club in Heber Springs.
The Lions will be back in action next week as the woman travel to the Hardscrabble Invitational at the Hardscrabble Country Club in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
The men will have another week off as they prepare for the SBU Classic hosted by the Silo Ridge Cross Country Club in Bolivar, Missouri.
