Josh Mullen, lead vocalist for Cinna the Poet stands in front of the band’s renovated van. Country Music Television’s Trick my Truck presented the vehicle just in time for tonight’s show at Kitchen Pass.

Cinna the Poet got its van nearly two years ago. Since then it has carried amps and guitars from Las Vegas to Baton Rouge and as far north as Chicago.

But none of the road trips have been as important as the trip to the shop it took less than a month ago. There it received a makeover and the nickname ‘No Worries’ from the new cast of Country Music Television’s Trick My Truck.

“It’s perfect for us. It’s like they read our minds,” said Nate Robusto, drummer for Cinna the Poet. “We were on film the first time I saw it and I was speechless.”

But Robusto said he’s even more excited about the fact that this show will introduce the band to a national audience.

“Publicity, publicity, publicity.” Robusto said. “Getting the van is awesome. But more importantly I think the future of the band will change because of this show.”

Josh Mullen, lead vocalist for Cinna the Poet, shared in the enthusiasm and said this is probably the nicest thing anyone’s ever done for him.

“I feel guilty,” Mullen said. “That’s how good it is.”

Trick My Truck starts its fourth season in February, and this episode will probably air sometime in March. But, for local fans, the van will be available sooner. Tonight the van will be released for the public to see during a Cinna the Poet show at Kitchen Pass. Followed by an all-ages show at The Foundry on Saturday.

“It was really cool that Josh got chosen because he’s local and now people around here can see our work anytime,” said Matt Moore, new cast member for the show.

Although the band doesn’t have a tour planned until spring, Mullen said the band plans to play at least one 21-and-up and one all-ages show in Joplin every month.

“I can’t wait to break this thing in,” he said.

To find out where to see the van, or look up Cinna the Poet’s concert calendar persons may go to the band’s MySpace page.

“If you haven’t seen us, come check us out,” Mullen said. “And if you have seen us but haven’t seen us in a while, we have a lot of new material.”
