SSA president responds to Chart columnist

Ben, can you name a single goal of the SSA?

Why do you, as a Christian, think that you have some great understanding of how non-religious people think?

At what point did you decide that it’s okay to try to convince people that your position is better on the grounds that it’s older?  The Ptolemaic model of the universe is older than the Copernican model; does that mean Galileo was unreasonable in advocating Heliocentrism?

I propose that, if you wish to compose a commentary on a group of people, you should actually invest the time to have a conversation with that group of people.  Making philosophically brain-stabbing arguments, accusing people of simply choosing ideas that suit them, and ending an article with a challenge to people who think differently are not the sorts of actions one would expect from informed people.

If you want to ask us questions or learn about us, all you have to do is come to a meeting or approach one of our members.

We’ll be more than happy to answer any questions you have, and I promise that we won’t make you drink the devil-juice. (There is no devil-juice.)
