St. Louis store offers awards to students

The economic burden of college challenges many students. However, Goedeker’s, a St. Louis-based company, is making an effort to lift the burden. The company is offering a college scholarship worth up to $500 for books to students who are eligible. Eligibility includes any student enrolled in an accredited college at any grade level, graduate level, and even high school seniors enrolled in dual credit courses.

The grand prize is a $500 scholarship, but there are two honorable mention scholarships of $100 each, as well.

All students need do to enter is write an essay at least 300 words, have proof of a 3.0 GPA or higher, show proof of enrollment in an accredited college, attach contact information, a short bio and a recent photo, and send all in an email addressed to matt.davids.goedekers.com.  

Goedeker’s is a family-run appliance store in south St. Louis. According to the business’ website, the Goedeker family is committed to giving great customer service and supplying the community with the best value. The family has strong family and Christian ties, and boasts the slogan, “Give us a chance any day but Sunday.”
