Presley earns MIAA women’s field athlete of the week
Missouri Southern sophomore and defending national champion pole vaulter Emily Presley has been named the MIAA Women’s Field Athlete of the Week, the MIAA announced on Tuesday.
Presley was the first Division II women to automatically qualify in the pole vault this past weekend as she broke the Southern indoor school record by five inches with a height of 13-07.25 in the Southern Open.
The mark is tops in D-II by nearly six inches and tops in the MIAA by over a foot.
Presley is making huge waves early in the season. Look for her to break her record again. The Southern track & Field team will be back in action tomorrow at Pittsburg State (Kan.) in the Pitt State Invite.
