To have the opportunity to play your hometown or to be able to give something back to the community is a special treat for any performer. Tomorrow night, a native son of Miami, Okla., is coming home and he’s bringing cameras with him to record the experience.

Country superstar Keith Anderson returns for a free concert outside of the historic Coleman Theater in downtown Miami. During the concert, filming will take place for a television special and video shoot for his current single “Podunk.”

The concert and taping are both part of the Keith Anderson Day festivities, which includes a tour around Miami by Anderson and lunch for special contest winners.

To prepare for the event, both KKOW 96.9 FM in Pittsburg and KIX 102.5 FM in Joplin have hosted casting calls for the “Podunk” video. A third video casting call was held at the Coleman Theater this week.

Anderson has performed with artists such as Rascal Flatts, Trace Adkins and Jason Aldean. His album, Three Chord Country and American Rock and Roll, which features Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler on the title track, has been certified gold.

Anderson’s songs have a wide variety of meanings, from “Everytime I Hear Your Name” which has relationship written all over it, to his ode to his hometown, “Podunk.”

The Arista recording artist has seen two of his songs break into the top 10 of the Billboard Top 100 Country Music Charts. “Pickin’ Wildflowers” made it to No. 8, and “Everytime I Hear Your Name” made it to No. 7. His other single, “XXL,” provides a little levity to the country genre.

Bar none, Keith puts on a very good show. Having the opportunity to see the young and aspiring Anderson is one worth having. His shows are entertaining and he provides the energy for a show that is hard to describe with words.

Don’t think Anderson is a typical country artist. He truly blends country and rock ‘n’ roll to bring a style of his own to the stage, his fans and to the people of his hometown.
