Western Vs. FHSU

This week the Missouri Western Griffons face Fort Hays State who, last season, made their name by stealing a win from the Southern Lions. This begs the question can they spoil MWSU’s year. Chances for a Fort Hays State victory are about as slim a chance of Southwest Baptist going on to win the MIAA this season. Western is coming off a 31-24 loss to Washburn and will look to make a statement early. Key players to watch is this MIAA match up are MWSU QB Drew Newhart who as a freshman has already thrown for 708 yards this season and 8 touchdowns. On the Fort Hays side of the ball the defensive backs seem to be having all the fun. As a defensive core the Tigers have forced 6 interceptions this season, turning one into a touchdown. Although this is Fort Hays’ Homecoming game don’t expect any miracles, Western should easily take the victory.
