Why Senate

Missouri Southern’s Student Senate didn’t take long to go “bonehead.”

Bylaws restricting senators from approving funds for groups to which they belong are there for a reason. They avoid

apparent, if not real, conflicts of interest. A logical alternative would have been to let abstentions be neutral, not negative.

We’ve seen Senate’s less than greatest hits before. Let’s hope this isn’t the first move for this Senate toward the legislative bargain bin.
