CAB discusses ticket contest

At Wednesday’s Campus Activities Board meeting, members discussed Kansas City Chiefs game tickets, the next movie series and other events.

Several pairs of Chiefs tickets will be given to Missouri Southern students. The tickets will be for the Chiefs game on Sunday, Oct. 25 against the San Diego Chargers.

CAB is considering hosting a game of bingo from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9 in the Lions’ Den to give away the tickets, but nothing is set in stone, said Jessica Pope, coordinator of student activities.

“Watch for posters around campus to see what we do,” said Pope.

CAB is also promoting its movie series this October. A Haunting in Connecticut is set to show Oct. 12-15. Times have been changed to Monday and Tuesday at 3 p.m., Wednesday at 7 p.m. and Thursday at 9: 30 p.m. Members are also considering offering concessions.

“We want to make it a real theater experience,” said Pope.

A Haunting in Connecticut will show in the Phelps Theater in the Beimdiek Student Recreation Center.

Carmen Reed, the mother of the family that lived in the Haunting in Connecticut house, will make an appearance on MSSU’s campus this October.

Reed will be speaking at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29 in Corley Auditorium.

To continue the theme of Halloween, CAB is also hosting Boo Bingo at 12:30 p.m., Friday Oct. 30 in the Lions’ Den.

Pope reminds students to bring their IDs to all events. She also encourages students to get involved and attend CAB meetings if they want to help create events.

CAB meets at 2:15 p.m. every Wednesday in the Student Activities Office, next to the Lions’ Den.
