Christiansen leaving Southern for job nearer her family

During Wednesday’s Campus Activities Board meeting, Tori Christiansen, director of student activities, announced that she would be leaving Missouri Southern.

“Next Friday will be my last day at Southern. Having a child really rocks your world,” Christiansen said. “I’m moving home. I’m from Oklahoma and I’m moving back to be with family. I just had my son in December and I’m going home so my whole family can enjoy him.”

Christiansen will be moving to Edmond, Okla., to take a position as the coordinator of first year experience programs at the University of Central Oklahoma.

“I’m happy I’m not having to step backwards in my career,” Christiansen said. “I’ve enjoyed my time here at Southern. My leaving is bittersweet. It’s not due to unhappiness; it’s due to life. “
