Raycliff Manor’s Screamfest concert kicks off autumn

Raycliff Manor plans to kick off the Halloween Haunt Season with some of the “rockinest” bands around.

From 3 p.m. to midnight on Saturday 25, Raycliff Manor will be hosting Screamfest 2010. The festival will include a DJ, six live bands, two haunted attractions, merchant booths; including a psychic, balloon twisting, face painting, a $5,000 tattoo raffle for charity, pizza from Papa John’s Pizza, roaming entertainers, a photo booth with props and accessories and more spooky surprises.

“Raffle tickets are going to be $10 each,” Damon Haze, owner of Diamondhead Tattoo Studio, said. “Proceeds of the raffle are going to the breast cancer foundation, Helping Friends Mammograms. This organization helps women who cannot afford mammograms receive the help they need. The prize will be a back tattoo worth $5,000 or up to 40 hours of work.”

The Raycliff Fright Team said fans of Ska, Rock-a-billy, and Psycho-billy, Horror-Billy, Metal and Horror Surf music are in for “one hell of a treat.”  Bands will include; The Independents, Brutally Frank, Krom, The Karltens, Bandit Sounds, and The Boogeymen. Bands begin at 3 p.m. and will continue throughout the rest of the evening.

“This is going to be the biggest kick-off to the Halloween and Haunt Season to ever hit the four-state area,” Kelly Allen, president of Raycliff Attractions and Eureka Screams, said. “Our headliner, ‘The Independents,’ has actually toured nationally and got their start under the management of Joey Ramone. They play a Rockabilly style of music, called ‘Horror-billy.’

One of the other bands; ‘The Boogeymen’ play more of a ‘surf-punk’ style. They actually dress up as Halloween characters when they play. “

Admission includes access to both Raycliff attractions; The Raycliff Carriage Ride and the Raycliff Manor. Attractions open ant 7. General admission is $25 in advance and $30 at the gate. Tickets include access to all six bands, both attractions and access to the Budweiser Beer Garden for guests over 21.

Free parking and round trip to and from the festival shuttle will be provided. Parking is located at the Macs convenience store parking lot at 2703 East 32nd Street.

DJ Frenzy will be spinning the latest “electro-house tunes” in the “Monster Energy VIP Tent” for the 200 guests who purchase the “VIP Screamfest Pass.” VIP Passes are $35 and will only be sold online.
