According to a post on facebook.com, Missouri Southern may be without one of its most statistically proficient wide receivers next fall.

Friday, at approximately 1 p.m., Landon Zerkel posted on his facebook page, “Is I’m gona miss all my boyz at moso, but the papers have been signed. Now for the next chapter in my life.”

In a comment, Zerkel continues, “no idea where im goin yet got to send tapes out.”

Nine known players, current and former, had left comments on the post as of 5 p.m. wishing Zerkel, “good luck where ever you end up bro.” and “do what you gotta do, Zerk!”

In 2009, Zerkel led the team in receptions, receiving yards, average yards per catch and average receiving yards per game, in addition to contributing six touchdown catches.

The wideout also brought in five touchdown passes this past season in limited action due to injury.
