Tradition is being overlooked

If you have not watched any of the Harvard sailing team “Boys Will Be Girls” videos, you have been living under a stupid rock (inside joke from “Boys Will Be Girls: Night Out.”) They basically take the traditional gender roles and flip them around.

What’s great about these videos is not only that they’re funny; they’re dead on accurate too.

Men and women are different and these videos illustrate that fact better than anything else out there. They communicate, act and think differently.

How they view things, deal with problems and go about handling those problems are also different.

What these videos point out is something that is becoming almost obsolete.

It’s OK for guys to be guys and girls to be girls.

A large portion of society is so worried about offending the minority, they forget about the majority.

First, let me stress to you that I have no problem whatsoever with how someone chooses to live his or her life.

The issue is how someone is made to feel if they don’t agree. That isn’t right.

Isn’t that why we have the first amendment, to protect our freedom of speech and, likewise, our individual opinions and beliefs?

As soon as you put traditional in front of gender roles, society acts as if you just murdered somebody. That’s ridiculous.

Traditional just means consisting of tradition or derived from consistency, it in no way shape or form has any evil connotations.

It’s in the dictionary; look it up.

As far as the Harvard sailing team videos, look those up while you’re at it.
