Football team looks forward to spring game

Every year the Missouri Southern football team has a short spring season consisting of 14 practices, followed by a team scrimmage.

In early March, the team started to get back in the groove, and started practicing as they normally do in the fall.

This spring, the team focused on putting new systems with the offense and defense.

With new defensive line coach Chandler Tygard and new offensive line coach Derek Moore, the players have a lot to prove.

Head Coach Daryl Daye is still fairly new to the program and continues to analyze his players in and out of season. The spring is when coaches can re-evaluate players and the team as a whole.

“We look forward to seeing how far we have come as a team since day one,” said freshman quarterback Ricky Nichols. “We also like to see what players have improved to help us be successful.”
