Honoring a friend who died recently, Cody chose a special touch to his jersey. Darion Beckley, a fellow 13 year old from Lebanon, died in an automobile accident on I-44 at Waynesvile, Mo., in August. On day one, Cody had a flat tire. Race volunteers helped him get to the next stop to have the tire repaired.
