Hypnotist to captivate Southern

Hypnotist Michael C. Anthony will perform at Missouri Southern in Corley Auditorium on Thursday, Feb. 20, at 7 p.m. Anthony has won Male Entertainer of the Year with Campus Activities Magazine and has been called the “best stage hypnotist on the planet,” by VH1.

“He’s a seven-time nominee for Entertainer of the Year from Campus Activities Magazine—he’s also been a winner of that award—so he has a nice résumé,” said Landon Adams, director of student activities. “He’s been touring across campuses for a long time, so he’s got a lot of experience and he generally has received really positive feedback for his performances.”

According to Anthony’s official website, michaelcanthony.com, he got his interest from his uncle, Joe Lamonica, who was a stage hypnotist.

“He taught me some things and then I went from there and took it to the crazy place it is now,” he writes on his site.

Anthony has intense schooling in his field, and is a certified master hypnotist, as well a board certified hypnotherapist.

The event, sponsored by the Campus Activities Board (CAB), is free to students.
