The journey is not yet over

An event the other day triggered a string of events that changed my direction in life, and it made me start thinking about how everything happens for a reason.

Sometimes we don’t see it at the time, but when we look back, we see where we’ve been and just how far we’ve come, and we start to understand why certain events happened.

As in the words of Aerosmith, “Life’s a journey, not a destination.”

I feel sometimes we become too comfortable with where we are, and when something happens to change our course, we get scared or afraid of where life might take us.

Life is not easy, and it was never meant to be. Life is full of trials and tribulations, obstacles we must overcome and challenges we must face. Sometimes we need to stand and fight for what is right, and at other times we need turn and walk away.

It would be nice if life came with an instruction manual, but the truth is there are no easy answers. Sometimes the only way to find our answers is by making mistakes and learning from them. That is a part of life – we are all going to fail at one point or another, but it is learning from those experiences and moving on that helps us to succeed.

I learned a hard lesson the other day. While I believe all obstacles can be overcome, not all obstacles are meant to be overcome. Sometimes a road is blocked because we’re supposed to take a different path. The journey’s not over, it’s just that a new one has begun.
