Amy Lane, development coordinator at the Lafayette House in Joplin, speaks to attendees of this years annual Take Back the Night event hosted by Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority. Take Back the Night is an event to raise awareness of domestic violence. This year, on Thursday, April 16, students, staff, and community members were able to learn about domestic violence, steps for prevention, and ways to find support in the local community. At the end of the night, Lane asked attendees to participate in a moment of silence to remember all those who have been effected by domestic violence cases as the members of Alpha Sigma Alpha released teal balloons in their honor.
