The MIAA announced Monday they had named Northwest Missouri’s Justin Pitts as their Men’s Basketball Player of the Year. Pitts is tied for first in the MIAA in assists averaging 4.8 per game and second in the league in assist to turnover ratio while he ranks fifth in points per game averaging 20.8 on the year. He also led the league in minutes played.

While those stats are good, he’s no Taevaunn Prince who averaged a league leading 26.2 points per game and a .572 field goal percentage.  Prince was also a very close second in rebounding at 10.1 rpg, only 0.1 behind the league leader. He also finished sixth in steals and minutes played, only 0.6 behind league leader Pitts. We all know who the real winner is. While Prince was still a unanimous selection to first team All-MIAA honors, in our opinon, he got robbed.
