Belligerent man goes on campus rampage

Theft

9:25 p.m.

A student’s vehicle was broken into. While giving a theft report to a security officer, the student noticed that his friend’s vehicle had also been entered.

Someone entered the vehicle and stole a CD player and an album of CDs. The student had lost the vehicle’s door key, and it was not locked at the time.

The person who broke into the vehicle had ripped the CD player from the dash. The student was advised to make a report to the Joplin Police Department.

Disturbance

2:25 p.m.

Security was advised that a student became belligerent over parking in Lion Backer reserved parking.

Later, security was contacted that the same student was not following the library’s cell phone use policy.

Security warned the student about using his cell phone in the library.

The student apparently made rude gestures as he left the library.

Injured Person

4:05 p.m.

A security officer was called to Taylor Auditorium in reference to a person who had fallen from a ladder.

The victim said he was adjusting some lights when he lost his balance and fell from the ladder. He complained of some numbness in his left hand and the lower left side of his back.

An ambulance was called to the scene and the victim was transported to a hospital.

10:50 a.m.

A student advised security his vehicle had been broken into.

Both front doors of the vehicle were standing open and two duffel bags had been taken. The student said the bags contained books and clothes.

There were no signs of forced entry into his vehicle.
